LEED Guidance for Campuses and Multiple Buildings

Registered Campus Projects, Approaches, Credits

January 14, 2016

Hello,

I just started a campus project. There is only one project registered on LEED online as "xxxx Campus" . I don't know which approach was taken for the credits. Would there be multiple projects registered for a campus approach? Should there be a master site a long with individual projects registered on LEED online ?

Also, one of the attempted credits showing up on our LEED online campus project is MRc4:Recycled content. However, according to "LEED Campus Guidance" this credit can't be pursued as "campus credit" and that each LEED project referencing the Master Site may pursue the credit individually. How would one pursue this ? Would it be better to go with the group approach for the campus project if we are attempting this credit ?

Your advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Review

January 12, 2016

Hello everyone,

I just started working on a LEED 2009 project. I need some advice. The project has already had its design preliminary review and It is now in the design final application.

Our design preliminary review results are dated 05/27/2014–05/28/2014, do you think we will have issues submitting our clarifications this late after receiving the preliminary review results ? I know GBCI suggests to submit these clarifications within 25 business days after receiving the preliminary review results.

Your advice is appreciated LEEDuser's.

Updating previously awarded credits to match new adjustments

December 30, 2015

We are currently adjusting a few credit submissions based on Prelim. Construction review feedback and one credit will change material costs from $35k to $100k. If this value was also included in another credit that has already been awarded does that credit also need to be modified and re-submitted?

LEED Online terminology

December 21, 2015

Possibly a bit of a rookie question but...

The scorecard page has a drop down which denotes the status of the credit. I am struggling to work out the terminology in some instances- for example what is the difference between a credit which has been marked as "Approved" to one that is "Anticipated"?

Thanks,

Susie

Detailed LEED certification process

Detailed LEED certification process

December 9, 2015

Hi All,
For people, who have had no experience working on an actual Leed project from start to finish, is there a detailed flow chart, tutorial, a presentation perhaps that lists detailed instructions with all the documentation requirements. I guess what I’m asking for is a walk through of the entire process or a ‘Leed certification process for Dummies’,if you will :) How does one get project details uploaded on LEED Online? Passing the exam is one thing but experience on an actual project is what employers mostly require. This would be immensely helpful. Many Thanks.

Exempt area of 10% in a Group Project

Exempt area of 10% in a Group Project

November 26, 2015

We have a site that contains two buildings that are being certificate as a campus project.
In the ground floor of Tower A there are some stores that we want to exempt of the certification project (maximum of 10%).
Making some calculations, this area represent 10,36% of the total gross floor area of Tower A and 5,06% of total gross floor area of (Tower A + Tower B).
My question is: for a group project, is the maximum of 10% considering total gross floor area of all buildings or for each one of them?

Thank you.

LEED V3 2009 SSc3- Asbestos contamination

LEED V3 2009 SSc3- Asbestos contamination

November 13, 2015

I have a project where two forms of asbestos contamination has been identified. One on pipework and the other in the existing floor slab adhesive - SSc3 Brownfield development. The asbestos on pipework is to be removed. However, for the floor adhesive / slab the proposal is to apply a new compliant sealant locking in the existing adhesive. My question is, is this LEED complaint?

If an Asbestos Specialist confirms that this strategy remediates the building, does this comply with LEED?

Who is responsible for reviewing project drawings, specs and calculations BEFORE submitting them to the builder: the QAD, the Green Rater or a LEED for Homes Consultant?

Our experience outside the US is that a project will not meet ASHRAE and LEED standards unless a LEED Consultant or CxA performs a design review.

Since the Green Rater Manual says that the Green Rater cannot be involved in ANY architectural or HVAC design, I am wondering if this might be interpreted as COI.

Changes during construction

Changes during construction

November 2, 2015

Dear all,
I have a project which is in construction preliminary submittal phase now. some changes are suggested during construction which will affect credits that have been already approved and awarded, but will not affect the points within these credits.

For example decreasing roof vegetation area will change the roof layout drawing, but will keep the awarded point as we will be still within the compliant area threshold.

My question is that; will this change force us to make an appeal during "construction appeal phase", or not?

Design Appeal Stage

Design Appeal Stage

October 27, 2015

Dear all,
I'am in the "design appeal" stage now, I'am willing to accept the final design review, but I have two questions:

1. I have denied credits that have been reviewed only once (IEQp2 was reviewed during preliminary review and I didn't change its status since then, and IEQc7.2 that was reviewed during final design). Now I can't mark any of these two credits as "open for update", I need to know if I will be able to mark them as "open for update" after clicking "Accept" or not?

2. I have IEQc2 denied for the second time, the reviewer states that I can re-submit TAB results during appeal, my question is, if I click "Accept" now, will I be able to appeal this credit only during the construction appeal stage or not?

Thanks
