Campus-Same master site- LEED NC v4 and LEED EBOM 2009

August 19, 2014

In a commercial campus 3 individual projects are pursuing certification under LEED EBOM 2009. In rwo years time a new building will be constructed on the same master site, and will be registered under LEED NC v4.The master site will be re-registered (must be according to the LEED Campus Guidance 4-1-2014). Will the certification of the 3 individual buildings be affected then? (because by that time they will be certified under LEED 2009) ?

"closing out" procedure

August 18, 2014

Hello all-
We received our Preliminary Construction Review from USGBC for a LEED-NC 2009 project. We have been awarded several credits at this review and combined with those awarded with the Design Review, have achieved the rating that we are shooting for. At this point we have 6 credits pending, but do not see the need to pursue them further. What is the proper procedure to accept those credits awarded and “close-out” the pending credits that we will not be pursuing? Is it a matter of removing those credits from the scorecard and then submitting for Construction Final Review?
Any insight is appreciated.
-K

Industrial Condominium Certification

August 14, 2014

A real state firm ask us for a valid certification for a Industrial Condominium project of 400 hectares approx. that will be located in a suburban area, disconnected of existing public transportation or services. This area is far away from existing urbanized area. Then, the real state firm plans to sale sites for industrial buildings that could be LEED certified on future, however the firm is interested in a certification for the master plan.
Which suppose to be the adequate certification for this project? Does LEED have an option? If not, anybody knows about a sustainable certification for this kind of project?

Preliminary Design Review

August 12, 2014

We are about to submit for preliminary design review; some consultants are not done with their assigned credit, but these are minor issues.

Is it okay to submit with credits marked "in progress" ....or do they still get reviewed if they are not marked complete.

Thanks,

v2.2 Combined verses Separate Design and Construction Submission

August 11, 2014

We are almost complete with construction of a project but have not submitted our design submission. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to submitting them as a combined submission for v2.2NC?

Do three multifamily buildings qualify as multiple buildings?

Do three multifamily buildings qualify as multiple buildings?

August 8, 2014

We have a project with three multifamily apartment buildings and each qualifies under the new-ish LEED for Homes Multifamily 2010 rating system. However, under the AGMBC, LEED for Homes Multifamily 2010 is not referenced as an qualifying rating system. Is this an oversight or do we have to do three individual certifications?
Thanks!

Extension for review

August 6, 2014

We have had a preliminary review comment that highlights a missed prerequisite. We will require more than the 25 days allowed for our response. I understand we can ask for an extension, but have not found anyplace to do that in LEEDONLINE. What is the procedure to ask for an extension?

Calculating FTEs

hotel with restaurant

July 31, 2014

Hello. I am trying to figure out how to classify the transient population at a hotel with restaurant on the ground floor. Would the hotel guests be transient-students/visitors, and the restaurant transient-retail customers?
Thanks for your input.

EBOM review timeline

July 23, 2014

I'm working with a team preparing our first EBOM submittal and the goal is Platinum. I'm curious about the length of time it might take to get the initial review comments back. Since my experience is largely new construction, I wondered if anyone with EBOM experience could help me anticipate the schedule. Should we plan to reconvene the team in 30 days or significantly longer than that?

I know there are many variables to consider, I'm just curious what other teams have experienced.

Thanks!
