BIO

Jeff is a Registered Professional Engineer with over 30 years experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering with the past 12 years devoted exclusively to green building design and construction. Jeff founded Ross-Bain Green Building in 2009 to offer expert environmental and energy services to the building community. Jeff has had direct project experience control on over 75 LEED projects and has trained over 8,000 students on various energy and environmental issues. He has led green building project teams and performed the energy simulations for LEED Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum buildings. During this time, he has also conducted numerous energy and water audits of existing buildings.

Jeff is currently a non-voting member of ASHRAE Standard 228p (Standard Method for Evaluating Zero Energy Building Performance) and is a past voting member and Working Group Chair of ASHRAE Standard 189.1 (Standard for the Design of High Performance Green Buildings). He is a member of several organizations, and was previously a member of the Georgia State Energy Code Task Force, and board member of The Green Chamber of the South.

Extensive overseas work has included positions in Australia, France, and Great Britain, where he worked as part of the commissioning team for the Channel Tunnel project.

In 2000, Jeff rode a bicycle across America.
