About exemplary performance credit (ID) in design appeal process

May 30, 2014

Currently we are preparing appeal process for a project. We found a WE credit can earn Innovation in Design (ID) credit for exemplary performance after improvement and performing calculation.

Shall we submit the ID credit in appeal process or we can submit this ID credit during construction credit to earn the additional ID point?

Is it possible to have only two buildings certified without consider the other 13 buildings? The rest of 13 building are workshop and M&E equipment room. Only the control building and admin building that we would like it to submitted for LEED. Can we submitted two buildings together to be one project submission?

Appeal process

May 23, 2014

Folks,

This is our first time submitting an appeal.

As I clicked on "submit for review" under the "timeline" tab i was redirected to that screen where you select the credits you want to submit. However, differently from the regular submission review, there are 2 extra columns on this screen saying "Appeal Decision" and "Provide Clarification" with box to check for each of these columns. Am I supposed to select any of these options? They are not making sense to me...

Checks for Design Preliminary Review

May 20, 2014

We are about to submit our first "Design Preliminary Review" for our LEED Gold project. All design credit templates have been filled out and signed. Do you have any recommendation(s) for checking on any specific item to make sure that we are not missing anything ? Any feedback or recommendation(s) based on your previous experience would be a great help.
I printed out and distributed the " LEED Project Submittal Tips " to all disciplines for their review and check and hopefully everything has been picked up.

Can I include IEQ c8.1 to my design package but mark the option 3.Measurement ? How am I going to indicate that we are achieving this credit even though measurements need to be taken during construction or prior to occupancy ?
Thanks

Campus vs Group vs individual buildings

May 19, 2014

Hello I have a project that is comprised of three different buildings that are actually on a college campus. A dining facility; a 6 story housing building and a 2 story multi-use and housing building; Three Buildings all are on the same project site same fenced in area. I am just trying to make a decision as to 1. pursue each building individually and completely separately for all credits; or 2. pursue each building + Campus Approach; or 3. each building + Group approach. i know it depends heavily on many factors but In General is there a pros and cons as to which is more efficient?

LEED Boundary

May 19, 2014

We are currently working on a project (Hotel) where there is a seperate utility building serving Hotel. The hotel is targetting LEED certificate.
I just have a small question; if the utility building serves only the hotel, shall we include it in the LEED boundary?

LEED Online V3 and web browser solutions?

May 14, 2014

Revisiting an old issue, but perhaps updates have been made since I last checked.... please chime in.
Per the USGBC technical support, LEED Online v3 works on a PC with Internet Explorer(IE) v9 (not v10 or v11). I need to use the most updated IE version for other programs I use. Does anyone have any creative solutions for this (other than having two computers)? Have you had success with other web browsers and LEED Online v3? (Safari and Firefox do not work on a PC.) Anyone know if the USGBC is planning to fix this soon, ie. LEED online v3 will work on IE11 or other browsers? Thanks.

We have a resort project which has 4 buildings excluding villas in different phases.
There are villas in the resort but we are intending to get LEED NC silver certification without villas. Is it possible? If it's not, how could we get certification for the resort project without villa?

Appeal process

May 8, 2014

Hi folks,

It's our first time making an appeal and we are not quite sure about the correct procedure. We are appealing the prerequisite EAp2. We've read the "Appeal Policy" under the "LEED Certification Policy Manual" but still some doubts....

From our understanding, is pretty much the same thing as responding to a preliminary review. There's no specific doc format and the only difference is pretty much that we have to click the button "appeal" in LEED Online to inform you are going to do it.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks!
