Contacting the LEED reviewer

July 23, 2014

Is there a process in place to contact our LEED reviewer? We are preparing an appeal for EAp2 and EAc1 and would like an opportunity to discuss a few key issues with the reviewer before dropping $800 on this appeal. is this possible?

Thanks! Todd B.

FTE shifts longer than 8 hrs

July 17, 2014

We are working on Police Facility. Some of the full time occupants work longer than 8 hours shifts. Therefore should we add the total number of hours worked by full time occupants and divide by 8 to figure out our FTE?

Shared parking deck

LEED Guidance for Campuses and Multiple Buildings

Shared parking deck

July 10, 2014

We have a campus being constructed with 5 expected buildings and 1 parking deck to serve all. All buildings and deck will be individually metered. We are planning a campus approach. We are trying to determine how to account for the parking deck energy usage? Currently 3 buildings and the deck are being constructed. The other two will be constructed at a later date.
To account for the parking deck energy in the EA modeling credits we are planning to pro-rate deck energy usage by sq ft and assign that to each building. Is this the best way to calculate? For example: 1 building accounts for 46% of total campus sq ft and we will add 46% of the parking deck energy usage to this building's energy model.

Precertification Final Decision

Precertification Final Decision

July 9, 2014

We received our Precertification Final Decision for our Core and Shell building. LEED online indicates I can accept or appeal the final decision. When I choose accept, I am taken to the Precertification Review Acceptance Form. This form uses some confusing language. If I submit it states that I am closing out the application process and making the projects certification official. It further states that this is how the project will be represented on plaques and certificates.
We are trying for Silver and have achieved Certified in the Precert process. Several Construction credits are yet to be completed. The Scorecard correctly shows that we are attempting 52 points and have been awarded 44. to this point. I'm nervous about submitting because this form does not acknowledge that the project will then transition to Design and Construction Review. It makes it sound like I am accepting Certified as our final. Does this sound normal?

Large footage residence and threshold adjustment

Large footage residence and threshold adjustment

July 8, 2014

Hello. We are in the very first steps in our first LEED Home. While looking at out options and working on the threshold adjusment, the checklist is telling us we need over 80 points only to be Certified since the residence has a large footage and large number of bedrooms. Our goal was to work for achieving Platinum but with the adjustment the spreadsheet is telling us we practically need to achieve all the points available!

The home has bedrooms available for fulltime housekeepers and we would like to know if this would make the project a mutifamily building and if with this we are required to use the home size adjustment method for mutilfamily buildings?

Would the fact that the structure of the residence already exists (nothing would be added) affect the threshold adjustment?

Thank you!

FTE Calculation

Calculating FTEs

FTE Calculation

July 8, 2014

Hi,

I have a slight confusion in calculating FTE to monitor energy consumption.
Example.

Totally 500 people.
200 people are working in two projects general shift of 8 hrs.

The remaining 300 are working in a same project but a 24*7 project. So each 100 works for 8 hrs.

How do I arrive at FTE when I know only the total value as "500" also I have hourwise maximum head count value for a day for the entire facility .

Kindly seeking your support.

Downloading Review Report

Downloading Review Report

July 7, 2014

Does anyone else have problems downloading the Review Report from LEED Online? I click on "Project Report" on the Timeline tab, or "View Report" from the Overview tab, and a window opens that says "Your Report is Being Prepared" with a swirling "Loading" icon beneath, but then nothing happens, regardless off how long I wait. I know I'm using the correct version of IE. Any ideas?

3 Residential Tower + 1 Commercial Shop lot

July 1, 2014

Hi,

Im confuse, on which path i should choose to register my project and it's fee.

Scenario :
the project has a huge parcel of land, and consist few building.

We have 3 identical residential tower sit on a shared parking bay (above grade - 4 storey) and facing a 4 storey commercial shop lot. All these building owned by a same owner and construct at the same time.

i read through the "LEED CAMPUS Guidance - Updated April 1, 2014" and felt that i can register as "Group" under LEED CS.

My inquiry is

1. Are we eligible to register under "Group"?
2.The registration fee and review cost is base on the number of building we have in the "Group" ?
3. can we category the residential building (3 identical residential tower building) as 1 building for review submission ?

Please help.

RCP's and Precertification

June 25, 2014

We just received back the result of our PreCert review (project outside US) and are a few points short of our desired level. I noticed that no RCP's were awarded even though the associated credits were. Looking at the scorecard, I also noticed that the RCP icons do show up there either.
Could this be a glitch in the system, or are RCP's not considered in a PreCert review?

Defer final design review for a credit until final construction

June 23, 2014

I've read through the string here and can't seem to find an answer to my question. After the initial design review (in this case for WEp1) can the final design review for that credit be deferred to the final construction review? Depending on anticipated points at that stage, the owner may decide to install different flush valves to achieve additional water savings (and antoher 2 points).
