Project pertaining to only the third floor of a building

CI-v4 EAc2: Optimize Energy Performance
posted by Peter Downar on Oct 25, 2021, 10:56 am

The project pertains to a fit-up of only the 3 rd floor of a multi-floor building. The HVAC scope of the renovation does not include changes to the water-side components and only affects the air-side components. i.e. a new AHU, ERV, HLR and VAV boxes are installed, however, the chiller and boiler feeding the hydronic lines are existing (used by the whole building). How do we reflect the existing equipment in the spreadsheet when the spreadsheet specifically calls for baseline/proposed equipment information? Specifically referring to the following sheets: Service Water Heating, General HVAC, Air-Side...

Hotel rooms requirements

Hospitality-NC-v4.1 EQc9: Acoustic performance

Hi! In the new LEED v4.1 i noticed that in the acoustic performance credit all reference to residential projects has been removed. In LEED v4, for hotel rooms the sound isolation requirement was in the same line as residences. In the LEED v4.1, for hotel rooms, the sound isolation requirement doesn't need to be verified or the space has to be characterized with the table options (ex.: private)? Thank you!  EQc9 Portugal ...

LEED project boundary as big as 400m radius

CS-v4 LTc4: Surrounding density and diverse uses

Purcell Sustainable Design Lead CannonDesign LEEDuser Expert 371 thumbs up October 13, 2021- 11:43 am Hi Courtney, the offset would basically be 400m / 0.25 mi from the LEED boundary line in any direction. A "buffer" function in a GIS program could do this, or you could do it manually in a graphics or PDF editor by taking a few line measurements from the boundary and connecting them.  I think these illustrations...

Refrigerant used for heating

NC-v4 EAc6: Enhanced Refrigerant Management

a lot of work with a relatively small amount of refrigerant, are we just excluding all buildings like this from this credit?  I realise it is only one point, but it doesn't seem logical.  Cheers EAc6...

Walkscore only for a few countries?

NC-v4.1 LTc4: Surrounding density and diverse uses

I investigated the new option 3 for this credit. The only information required is a screenshot of the Walkscore. That seems a lot easier than showing density calculations etc, could be an option for some projects. However, I noted that Walkscore says on the website that they only support the US, Canada, Australia and New Zeeland. Although I get results on my Swedish addresses that seem accurate. I contacted Walkscore, they say that “Walk Score is not supported in Sweden. Data may be inaccurate, incomplete, or missing entirely.” Does this mean that LEED would or would not accept that I use option 3? (I...

Interior Space counts toward 30% of total

Healthcare-v4 SSc7: Places of respite
posted by Maddie Spinski on Oct 6, 2021, 1:42 pm

In the v4 handbook, the requirements read that, "such interior spaces may be used to meet up to 30% of the required area if 90% of each qualifying space's gross floor area achieves a direct line of sight to unobstructed views of nature." Does this mean that at least 70% of respite areas must be outside? If so, is this credit not achieveable if all respite areas are located inside? SSc7 United States ...
