The LEED-EBOM program is built around the idea of a “performance period,” or a snapshot of time where teams collect performance data for review by GBCI. Your project’s certification level is based on the outcomes achieved during the performance period, so you’ll need to ensure that sustainable practices are implemented throughout this timeframe.
Performance Period Rules – Initial Certification
Many prerequisites and credits require that operating data and other documentation be submitted for the performance period. But, you don’t have to use the exact same performance period across your entire LEED-EBOM application. USGBC recognizes that teams need some flexibility in planning performance periods, so they’ve established rules intended to provide that flexibility while ensuring that certification is awarded based on a relatively consistent period of time.
