is there a performance standard the project will be held to for “minimizing” and “addressing” those noise concerns? As it is, there is a lot of room for interpretation as to what is good enough and I would be worried...

Native plants = No Irrigation Required?

NC-v4 WEc1: Outdoor water use reduction

Hi All, Noted in the Step-by-Step Guidance, Step 2. Option 1. saying that: A landscaping plan showing native plants may be provided to confirm that irrigation will not be required, based on local rainfall and plants’ water demands. So, does it mean GBCI would accept a landscaping plan having all plants native require no irrigation after establisment period? Under the premise that the landscaping area is "rain reachable". And no calculation is needed?  Thanks a lot! WEc1 ...

Total Water Demand for Irrigation (Tank sizing, Plant Sizing, Network Sizing etc.)

NC-v4 WEp1: Outdoor water use reduction
posted by Tariq Muhammad on Oct 15, 2023, 3:57 am

Dear All, As we know that the total water demand of irrigation do impact the Water storage Tank sizing, Plant sizing and Network sizing. The LEED calculator do provide the end rusult with let say 33% (Lets consider 100 m3/day baseline & 67 m3/day after 33% reduction) reduction from the base line. Now which value we should use for our irrigation design to follow i.e. 100 0r 67 m3/day. Actually our project designer is using the baseline value, which i believe is wrong, as this way we are not benefiting from the LEED reduction in total water demand and consequently the system size. Kindly...

"The counted uses must represent at least three of the five categories, exclusive of the building’s primary use category." This language has posed a challenge for projects in v4/4.1 especially those in the Civic and Services categories. Those two categories are so broad and diverse that well-connected projects can get caught up by not having enough OTHER uses. I appreciate the intent behind this, e.g. not just letting a project in a retail strip earn the credit for being near a lot of stores even if the whole development is isolated and car dependent. I think removing...
