SSp2 Ruling based on Risk AssessmentHealthcare-v4 SSp2: Environmental Site Assessmentposted by Donal Dignan on Jun 6, 2018, 5:30 pmHi All, I'm working on a Healthcare v4 project that has detected iron in significant concentrations on the project site and it appears to possibly be a background contaminate but this is still being investigated. As the risk of elevated iron underneath a parking lot and building is potentially not directly harmful to building and site occupants, the client is considering performing a risk assessment to state a case that the site would not cause site occupant's health and this would be submitted to the local government to review. If the local government deems the risk to be sufficiently low... |

Interior Space counts toward 30% of totalHealthcare-v4 SSc7: Places of respiteposted by Maddie Spinski on Oct 6, 2021, 1:42 pmIn the v4 handbook, the requirements read that, "such interior spaces may be used to meet up to 30% of the required area if 90% of each qualifying space's gross floor area achieves a direct line of sight to unobstructed views of nature." Does this mean that at least 70% of respite areas must be outside? If so, is this credit not achieveable if all respite areas are located inside? SSc7 United States ... |

MRc7 Combine all three options to meet threshold, and supporting documentation?Healthcare-v4 MRc7: Furniture and medical furnishingsposted by Grace Heraly on Apr 1, 2022, 11:20 amHello Everyone, I'm working on a LEEDv2009 HC project, but figured I would post here as the question pertains to v4 as well. I am wondering whether you have to choose one option and must meet the 30%/40% threshold with that singular option, or can you combine compliant furniture in all three options to meet those thresholds? I'm also curious about the supporting documentation required. I'm not seeing a line in the LEEDonline form asking for any, but have heard 20%. Does anyone know for certain what the requirement is for supporting documentation? Thank you! MRc7 United States ... |

Separate measurement of cold and hot lines for healthcare water usesHealthcare-v4 WEc4: Water meteringposted by Mark Benson on Apr 26, 2023, 12:21 pmFor healthcare projects, projects must "install water meters in any five" water uses listed. However, many of these water uses, such as dietary, laundry, laboratory, etc. include both cold and hot water lines. Therefore, would separate meters on the cold and hot water lines for dietary department count as two of the five meters required? If not, the credit could require 10 meters or more if the intent is to measure both cold and hot water use for these healthcare water uses. WEc4 United States ... |

walkable Street- Item C- MU / NR distance to sidewalksND-Plan-v4 NPDc1: Walkable Streetsposted by Ian Scott on Nov 28, 2016, 4:23 pmit indicates- "For the nonresidential and mixed-use setback from sidewalks requirements (c), the distance of the setback must be measured from the property line." Is this presuming sidewalks are always right at property line? What if they are not? What about portions of the building that might be stepped back but facing an on-site pedestrian walking area (near entrances for example) which function as an walking connection to the sidewalk, even though the "sidewalk" might be at (or near) property line. Is this an "equivalent walking route? NPDc1 ... |

Do off-street parking facilities that are not surface-parking require carpool or car-sharing parkingND-Plan-v4 NPDc5: Reduced parking footprintposted by Pongpitch J. on Jun 8, 2022, 12:38 amHi, Our project does not have any surface parking (outdoor lots or single-story parking facilities not under habitable buildings). The project does not have any existing parking facilities. However, new off-street parking facilities will be built (basement and multi-story parking building). Based on the NPD Credit Reduced Parking Footprint PDF form, the numbers of preferred carpool and shared-use vehicle parking are only required when we select “New surface parking facilities are being built”. On the other hand, when we chose “No new surface parking facilities are being built”, the form only... |

Not enough parking space within a 60-meter range of the entrances to fit all preferred parkingND-Plan-v4 NPDc5: Reduced parking footprintposted by Pongpitch J. on Jun 8, 2022, 12:41 amHi, The project plans to provide 10% carpool and shared-use vehicle parking; however, only some of the preferred parking can fit into the available lots within a 60-meter range of the entrances because there is not a sufficient number of parking within a 60-meter range of the entrances. Will it be acceptable for some of the preferred parking to be further than 60 meters from building entrances? Thank you so much in advance NPDc5 Thailand ... |

Building-height-to-street-centerline ratio for garden blocks contains no building.ND-Plan-v4 NPDc1: Walkable Streetsposted by Pongpitch J. on Jun 8, 2022, 10:38 pmHi, Our team has a question about LEED-ND: Walkable requirement in section M (Building height to street ratio), the requirement is to comply with the 40% of the block length. Our project contains a mixture of blocks with buildings and blocks with just landscape features with circulation networks circulated around and/or between them. These landscape feature blocks with no building act like pocket gardens serving people from different parts of the project. When counting the total “block length”, the inclusion of these garden blocks adds a lot of unqualified block lengths to the equation. The question... |
