Street Lights within LEED boundary

NC-2009 SSc8: Light Pollution Reduction
posted by Deborah Lucking on Oct 13, 2010, 6:58 pm

Our project is in an urban site; the LEED boundary goes beyond the property line and sometimes the curbline. The presence of city-owned and operated street lights within our LEED boundary pretty much nixes our chances of achieving this credit. What do you think of using EBOM SSc8 Option 3 as an alternate compliance path? SSc8 ...

Gregory Hurst Office Manager Robert Peccia & Associates LEEDuser Basic Member 66 thumbs up October 13, 2010- 12:42 pm My inital thought is that you are infiltrating the entire volume within your LEED boundary (I assume) and if this is the case, then your run-off flow rate is also zero. You only need to measure the rate and volume as it leaves your site. Log in or register to post comments...

Victoria Lockhart Arup Associates LEEDuser Basic Member 125 thumbs up October 13, 2010- 9:54 am i realise that the credit intro above specifically rules leather out, but i cant find anything in the reference guide which defines this criteria of not harming the animal. besides which, if the leather is a wasteful by-product of a different production line, theres no reason to say this cant be "harvested in a sustainable fashion". Be interested to hear from anyone with review-experience in this respect. Many thanks in advance! Log in or register to post comments Tristan Roberts Representative...

Wellness Area in Hotel

NC-2009 WEp1: Water Use Reduction
posted by Susann Geithner on Sep 30, 2010, 2:26 pm

Do we have to include showers, body sprays in the wellness / spa area of an hotel in the calculation for WE P1? If so, how many FTEs would we have to apply to them? We would think that 5% of the hotel guest would be sufficient, especially considering that the hotel is at an airport. Most guests stay only for one night maybe two. Thanks a lot in advance for any comments. WEp1 ...

Peak and Average Transient Visitors

General forums
posted by Geoffrey Tomlinson on Sep 30, 2010, 6:25 pm

I'm confused. Are they looking for a daily average and daily peak or a one time number. At a bank branch do they want to know that on average 100 people visit the branch daily and that on really busy days it can peak at 150 total visitors. Or, that at any give time, there are on average 15 customers simultaneously in the bank, and right after lunch it can peak at 30 customers waiting in line. LEED 2009 EB-O&M ...
