EBOM-2009 IEQc1.2: Indoor air quality best management practices - outdoor air delivery monitoring
posted by Katherine Ann Resurreccion on Oct 9, 2012, 6:22 am

Hi All, We have a project that has a lot of meeting rooms (area of each room is smaller than 150 square feet) that can accomodate 4 person per meeting room- therefore considered densely occupied and should be provided with CO2 sensors. However, the reference guide states that individual rooms smaller than 150 square feet are exempted. Which will govern? IEQc1.2 ...

PSZ-HP system and preheat coils

NC-2009 EAc1: Optimize Energy Performance
posted by Francesco Passerini on Oct 22, 2012, 12:42 pm

In the proposed design an AHU is connected to a lot of zones. In that AHU there is a preheat coil. I have to model the baseline model as system 4 PSZ-HP. In order to meet the setpoint temperatures I think that I cannot create a PSZ-HP that is connected to so many zones, i.e. I have to create more than one PSZ-HP system. According to G3.1.2.3 “If the HVAC system in the proposed design has a preheat coil and a preheat coil can be modeled in the baseline, the baseline system shall be modeled with a preheat coil controlled in the same manner”. If I create many PSZ-HP systems in the baseline model,...

Calculating Daylight via the Prescriptive Method

NC-2009 IEQc8.1: Daylight and views - daylight
posted by Dan Bielenin on Nov 5, 2012, 11:14 am

Eddy Santosa Director of Sustainability DBR Engineering Consultants LEEDuser Basic Member 376 thumbs up November 5, 2012- 12:03 pm Dan, I suggest you use the simulation to design the daylight. Typically, housing complex has modular design so it will be faster and easier to use simulation or daylight measurement. It give you a lot of advantages to have a better design and high performance building by incorporating daylight into design by using a simulation. If your goal is only to achieve LEED point which I don't recommend actually, you may reduce your VLT of your glass to lower the number...
