Low-Impact Development strategy- Rainwater harvest+dry-wells

NC-v4 SSc4: Rainwater management
posted by Claudio Bonalda on Sep 20, 2017, 8:21 am

Dear all, I am working on a project (NC-V4, not zero-lot line) with a rainwater harvest for flushing toilets and for irrigation. The harvest capacity is about the 20% of the run-off volume, while the rest is managed through a dry-wells system (after a contaminant and pollutant cleaning treatment). As a result, all the run-off volume goes into the aquifer and nothing goes into the urban sewerage. Could the combination of rainwater harvest and dry-wells be considered as a Low-Impact Development strategy?  I took a look on EPA website, but I haven't found any clarification about it. Thanks,...

Full spread vs non-full spread adhesives and sealants.

Just noticed this line while reading the reference guide for the 10,000th time and it may have been overlooked by me previously, looking for any other thoughts/experiences/suggestions. Under "Changes from LEED 2009" it states that "emissions requirements for on-site, wet-applied, full-spread products... are now included. VOC content limits for on-site, wet-applied products are still required" This implies to me that "non-full" spread interior on-site, wet-applied products, may have been exempt from the General Emissions evaluation criteria. What is the definitition...

Trista Brown Project Director WSP USA LEEDuser Basic Member 456 thumbs up March 20, 2018- 1:36 pm Hi Yodi, you could contact USGBC's customer service line to ask how you should document R32. Other folks have raised this same question on LEEDuser so you're not the only one having this issue. Maybe if enough people contact USGBC they'll release an updated credit form. Alternatively, you could provide a narrative and manufacturer documentation that provides the information requested on the form, and complete the calculation outside the form in order to confirm compliance....

Aerobic Digester for a LEED credit?

NC-v4 INc1: Innovation
posted by Harry Flamm on Jan 31, 2018, 3:32 pm

On a university residential/dining hall project, we will be utilizing an "Eco-Digester", (an aerobic digester from BioHiTech), http://digesters.biohitech.com/platform/digesters, that uses microorganisms to break food waste down into liquid form, allowing it to be safely discharged through the sewer line, eliminating the need for trucking and landfills. Does anyone have experience with this digester equipment in gaining a LEED credit? And if not, where do I begin to create a new Innovation credit? Thanks! Harry INc1 U.S. and Canada ...

Preferred parking/ Charging stations allocated off- site

So, if you're counting on earning Parking Footprint by having zero parking, this might not be a great strategy.) Then, reserve the appropriate number of preferred parking spaces and charging stations for project occupants. Alternatively, you could calculate that number based on the whole lot, and not reserve them for project occupants. Log in or register to post comments Annie Dahan LEEDuser...
