BIO

As a Project Director at SDC, Kara leads teams in the development of green educational facilities, institutional office buildings, and residential developments. Notable achievements include Eastern Village Cohousing, the first LEED-certified cohousing project and winner of numerous green building awards; the Camille Kendall Educational Center at the Universities at Shady Grove which earned LEED-NC Gold certification as well as the AIA Public Building of the Year award in 2007; and Stoddert Elementary for DC Public Schools, which achieved LEED-S Gold certification in 2011 and was among the first schools to receive the Green Ribbon Award in 2012.
