LEEDuser Premium Member 3 thumbs up February 4, 2019- 3:48 pm Hi could someone please help with an answer to the above? I will re-copy for ease. Thank you. Do vestibules at the entrance of buildings require mechanical ventilation? As those spaces have lots of air exchange with the outdoors when people enter or leave the building, it seems to me that ventilation is not necessary. Second question: Do interior stairs require ventilation?...

Is compliant SRI paint enough?

NC-2009 SSc7.2: Heat island effect - roof

Charles Nepps NH Green Consulting LEEDuser Premium Member 97 thumbs up December 9, 2016- 1:31 pm The assumption you made: the paint is compliant, therefore whatever you paint will be compliant, is not unreasonable, or that uncommon. However, the texture of the surface has a lot of impact on the SRI value. For example a irregular surface can actually cast shadows on itself and reduce the overall SRI value. You'll need to contact the paint manufacturer and find out which material(s) they tested the paint on and hope that those match the materials you painted. If not, you may need to have additional testing...

Emily Purcell Sustainable Design Lead CannonDesign LEEDuser Expert 371 thumbs up April 23, 2018- 2:11 pm I wouldn't bother itemizing, but I would add a note in the special circumstances box (or just in the table if there's room) explaining that the one line represents 17 tile products and confirming all are exempt. PIf3 Total number of residents

NC-2009 PIf3: Occupant and Usage Data

Susan Walter HDR LEEDuser Expert 1296 thumbs up April 26, 2018- 11:55 am What kind of hospital? Your description sounds like long-term care apartments. Inpatient hospitals in the US would use 1 'resident' per bed. My recommendation is to use 100% of bed count for the resident count unless you have an existing facility that can give you good metrics on 'average length of stay' and 'average occupancy.' You can also take the kitchen sink use for an inpatient down to zero. It is common to count inpatients as residents for the water calculations. No one else would be considered...

percentages of our raw materials are so high (and the new wood so low) that there's not a lot of credit to be had, but many entities we deal with really want the COC carried through. Thanks again...

Pin-based CFL's

EBOM-2009 MRc4: Sustainable purchasing - reduced mercury in lamps

Jenny Carney Vice President WSP LEEDuser Expert 657 thumbs up December 29, 2009- 11:59 am I'm not sure if there's been any consideration of offering a similar approach to pin-based CFLs, but I think the main motivation for the screw-based allowance is to make sure this credit doesn't discourage a switch from incandescents to screw-based CFLs. Since that possibility doesn't exist for the pin-based lamps, there's no special allowance. If you do happen to have a lot of pin-based CFLs that are pushing your picogram/lumen hour value up, you can always exclude up to 10% of lamps from...
