Lines of sight- How toNC-2009 IEQc8.2: Daylight and views - viewsposted by Simone Bevilacqua on Aug 5, 2021, 4:15 pmOur company is in charge of validating an office building compliance with credit IEQc8.2- Views, under LEED2009 V3. The building floorplate is shaped as a rectangle that repeats itself on 16 floors, with no fixed furniture, and curtain-wall facades on every side. How are we supposed to draw lines of sight? Do we have to indicate a 90degrees view cone for any arbitrary point? Do we have to trace these cones of sight starting from the façade going towards the inside of the floorplate or should we do it all the way around (meaning from critical points towards the outside)? Thank you! IEQc8.2 Canada ... |

Grass area may become a future parking lot.NC-v4.1 WEp1: Outdoor water use reductionposted by Don Wheeler on Aug 16, 2021, 2:20 pmWhen determining baseline calculations, I know not to include any aggregate areas. But if an area is initially grass with either temporary or permanent irrigation, should it be counted at all if if will become paved parking in a few years? Thanks! WEp1 ... |

Interior Space counts toward 30% of totalHealthcare-v4 SSc7: Places of respiteposted by Maddie Spinski on Oct 6, 2021, 1:42 pmIn the v4 handbook, the requirements read that, "such interior spaces may be used to meet up to 30% of the required area if 90% of each qualifying space's gross floor area achieves a direct line of sight to unobstructed views of nature." Does this mean that at least 70% of respite areas must be outside? If so, is this credit not achieveable if all respite areas are located inside? SSc7 United States ... |

sDA calculations for 100 LuxPilot-Credits EQpc116: Daylight in nonregularly occupied spacesposted by Alexandre DENEUVILLE on Oct 28, 2021, 4:39 amHello, We are having troubles with the language of the credit, with the sDA option, as we are asked 100 lux, but with no indication on the percentage of the time that needs to be compliant. The normal daylight credit asks of a sDA300/50%, so should we aim for a sDA100/50%, or do we need to read between the lines and understand that "achieving at least 100 lux" means sDA100/100%, meaning a 100% of the time? Thanks a lot. EQpc116 ... |

LEED boundaries for 2 different projectsNC-v4 SSc4: Rainwater managementposted by Mohammed Fadili on Dec 30, 2021, 9:48 amHello all, I am currently working on the certification of 2 separated buildings with different usages (separated HVAC and plumbing systems), both are following the v4 BD+C NC. The issue is that they are separated with a backyard with the same material without any physical separators, and they have a shared parking lot. The campus approach was not followed because the projects are located within a site that has 10 other projects with different rating systems (BD+C single family). Can anyone help me get how can I specify the boundaries of the projects? I'll be extremly grateful. Than you, SSc4 Morocco ... |

BD+C vs ID+C Rating System SelectionRetail-CI-v4 MPR2: Must use reasonable LEED boundariesposted by Sofia Barahona on Jan 5, 2022, 4:21 pmWe are working on a Retail (fast food store) that is currently in the LEED registration process. We are confused with the selection of the rating system because we were originally treating it as a BD+C: Retail because the project will be built from zero. However, now, with the store, a strip mall will be built. The store will be part of this strip mall. And the same construction company will have the full scope of the mall + the food retail store. Can we pursue LEED ID+C: Retail instead, given the fact that the strip mall will not pursue any LEED certification and only the retail store will? Best... |

Path 2 Transit Stop SheltersNC-v4.1 LTc5: Access to quality transitposted by Sara Goenner Curlee on Jan 5, 2022, 7:00 pmHello- I have a project considering pursuing Path 2 Access to Project-sponsored Transit Service. Can someone help me understand this sentence from the v4.1 guide? " Within the project boundary, provide at least one transit stop shelter at each transit stop within a ¼-mile walking distance from a functional entry of the project." Within my project's boundary there aren't any transit stops. There are existing transit stops within a 1/4-mile walking distance from a functional entry of my project. Is this line saying the project has to provide transit stop shelter(s) at the stops within... |

Construction of site continuing after building completedNC-v4 MRp2: Construction and demolition waste management planningposted by Adam Huckstep on Jan 25, 2022, 10:36 amHi All, I have a question on how to handle a project where construction will continue after the projects building is complete and ready for occupancy. Background: The project includes a building with a surrounding site roughly 8x the size of the building footprint. Construction of the building and the parking lot to support the building/occupants will be completed before the construction on the site... |
