Tristan Roberts Representative Vermont House of Representatives LEEDuser Expert 11477 thumbs up February 7, 2011- 8:43 pm Eric, a lot of this hinges on your definitin of "narrow," but it's hard to imagine that this site was not graded at some point, or more. If based on the terrain of the site and contrasting with any neighboring ungraded terrain you think this is the case, I would call it previously developed. Log in or register to post comments ...

that contain FSC certified wood." I don't have vendor invoices for the furniture vendors that lists FSC wood as a line item. The invoice we can get from the furniture distributor would list the various furniture model numbers as a line item. For example they would say (14) Task Chairs, Model X- $2,000, (2) Conference Tables, Model Y- $3,000, etc. Those invoices wouldn't say chair made from, fabric,...

Andrew Slusser Designer Flad Architects LEEDuser Basic Member 13 thumbs up February 7, 2011- 5:18 pm Sandra I would first ask why you have 42" high sills. I ask because yes you would probably not achieve this credit as you need the sight line of 42" to be unobstructed. However you may be able to state a reason to why you have such high sills such as a lab with a 42" high race way, but then you could make the argument that they sit on a stool chair as opposed to a task type chair. So what is the reason for 42"? Log in or register to post comments ...

Tristan Roberts Representative Vermont House of Representatives LEEDuser Expert 11477 thumbs up January 20, 2011- 5:29 pm Jennifer, every team is different and will find what works for it. With LEED, it's often important to have someone who is championing the LEED documentation piece and making sure stuff gets done—and this person can do a lot.On the negative side of your plan, most successful LEED and green projects report that a key element of success is having everyone committed to the goals and working as teammates. Green should not be delegated to one person. Some credits also...

Public Property and the 25ft Rule

CI-2009 IEQp2: Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) Control
posted by Melissa Wrolstad on Jan 25, 2011, 6:17 pm

Our project is in a very urban environment, and the front door opens to a public city sidewalk and then public road (no landscape, parking lot, etc). No smoking is permitted within the building. Is the client required by USGBC to ban smoking within 25ft of the entrance- or is public property exempt from the 25ft rule? I'm not sure that it is possible to prohibit the public from smoking in their cars as they drive by the space or hustle by on the sidewalk on their walk home from work! IEQp2 ...
