LOv3 incompatibilities preventng access

May 14, 2013

LOv3 not yet compatible with certain releases of Adobe Acrobat/Reader and IE10, that we know now USGBC IT trying to fix it. Has anybody heard as to when they reckon they can sort it out? Our systems automatically upgrade to the latest release but when we roll back the browser to IE9, LOv3 window still not working and now our Windows browser is playing up too even after we reinstall IE10. So we do not want to change anything with the browser, rather wish USGBC test their application after an upgrade before release to the public and quickly fix this latest incompatibility. Does anyone with similar experience has a way around?

Certification award beforem Grand opening??

May 10, 2013

We have finished design submittal and working on construction submittal.
I am just wondering when would be good time to submit the submittal?
Owner would like to have a certification flag(or some kind of certification) for grand opening so he can use for marketing purpose. Are there any ways to achieve that?
The thing is, we are going after EA3 Measurement and Verification credit. The credit requirement is compiles energy data and report over 1 year period after occupancy.
Do we have to wait 1 year after occupancy to submit the construction submittal?
Please help!

Master Site and different buidings certifications

May 9, 2013

We´ll start to work on a project seeking LEED certification for multiple buildings inside a factory´s plant.
Is it possible to create and submit a master site, register one building project now, and after a couple years register another building under the same master site?

Tenant Sales or Lease Agreement

May 5, 2013

I have several clients that are nearly refusing to provide a copy of their lease agreements because of concerns over confidentiality. Does anyone have recent experience submitting something short of the actual lease to satisfy the Appendix 4 requirements? For example, one of our clients proposed that GBCI should accept a letter from the developer. In years past, we've had reviewers accept this, but I have a feeling this won't be the case now.

Calculating FTEs

(Jacob) Calculating for Future Growth

May 3, 2013

If I have a building with a built-in percent of future growth that is predicted to happen over the next 10 years how do I incorporate those people into my FTE? It is an open office and there will be open spaces between workstations that will be purchased once new positions are filled, so they're not included in the original contract. I assume I do not need to count them as they won't be in the building at the time of occupancy?

LEED® Certification Agreement

May 2, 2013

Once finalized the justification of credits, and uploaded the information to begin the process of Design Preliminary Review, in the section Overview, we get this message:
" Your selections do not meet the Review Submittal Requirements for the following reasons:
This review cannot be submitted until the "LEED® Certification Agreement " is signed off."

We do not know how to access this document, who must sign it and where to send it or upload it to be effective and to continue the process.

Using LEED -Schools 2009 templates for LEED Schools 2.0 resubmit

May 1, 2013

Our project team is appealing a denied IEQp1 on a LEED Schools v2.0 project.
we'd like to use the template for LEED Schools 2009 instead of the ASHRAE 62MZ calculator simply because it provides more clarity and is a bit easier.
Has anyone done this, and/or, would it be allowed?

All LEED sample forms

April 29, 2013

There used to be a very useful page on usgbc.org where you could download zip files of groups of LEED sample forms. It seems to have disappeared with the re-vamping of their website. Does anybody know if such a page is out there? I would rather not download each form one at a time. Thanks!

invidually buildings ceritifcation vs multiple buildings/ campus

April 24, 2013

My project is based in Qatar and the total site area is around 13,000748 m2 of GFA comprising of 10,654 sqm of retail, 78,563 sqmof commercial office space including, 132sqm of atrium circulation, 7018 sqm of medical facilties, 21,580 sqm of residential and 11277 sqm of hotel, 524 sqm of community spaces and various levels of dedicated and public undergroun basement level parking. The most recent addition to the development, of the project is the inclusion of the metro stations at three different locations which would be underground . The entire development is comprised of 4 super blocks with individual buildings in it. One of the super blocks has 6 basements and the metro box would be included within it. My question is how would these 6 basements be taken into consideration. would they be taken part of the individual buildings or separately certified. Secondly , the cleint is opting to certify each individual building sepaartely to acheive LEED GOLD. they ahve also asked to consider LEED for multiple buildings/ campus as there could be potential benefits from phase wide credits taht could be used repeatedly for individual building submissions.there are a total of 12 buildings within the development. Could you give me the best approach to certify these 12 buildings individually. how would it affect the over all LEED rating if the metros are now included. And some tips to the over all project. Please ask me any questions if i have missed any important information. this is my first leed project which i will be handling by myself and i dont want to take a wrong decision which would effect the project . Please advise.

Hi I am working on a new development in Warsaw which will b supplied from the district heating system. DES is supplied by CHP which are supplied by biofuels maybe in 10%. Can this portion of energy (10%) can be counted towards EAc2 ? and EAc6 ? I haven’t’ found any note in the Guidance which will forbid that…

Thanks for Help
