CS-v4 MRc2: Building product disclosure and optimization - environmental product declarations
posted by Ward Miller on Dec 15, 2017, 6:03 am

Our project will be supplied bricks from Austria and potentially rebar from Turkey or Bosnia and Herzegovina. Both the bricks and the rebar have EN15804/ISO14025 Type III verified EPDs, but they written in the language of the country of the products' origin (Turkish/Bosnian/Serbian and German). We do not have the resources to translate these documents. Will GBCI accept these verified EPDs as 2 of the 20 we need to earn the first point for this credit or should projects in Europe simply forget about earning credits with evidence in multiple languages? ISO 14024 Type I ecolabels

NC-v4 MRc2: Building product disclosure and optimization - environmental product declarations

For BREEAM, ISO 14024 Type I ecolabels (Examples of ecolabel programs: http://www.greenspec.co.uk/ecolabels/) are accepted and contribute towards the credit, but I don't see that for LEED. Anyone knows wheter they may comply under any USGBC approved program?- Since this type of ecolabel complies with ISO 14024, but it is not listed in the aproved estandards for both EPD or Product- specific declaration: ISO 14025, 14040, 14044, and EN 15804 or ISO 21930, nevertheless I was wondering if this ecolabel may fall under Product Specific since is third party verified and according to ISO (ww.iso...

Proving compliance with other 3rd party tests

NC-v4 EQc2: Low-emitting materials
posted by F. Borja López Calle on Mar 5, 2018, 3:46 am

Hello,  I am working on a project in Spain and we are having trouble finding materials that comply with the requirements (especially paints). Most of the providers don't have a General Emissions Evaluation like the ones specified in the third party certifications matrix. (https://www.usgbc.org/sites/default/files/Low%20Emitting%20Third%20Party%20Certifications%20and%20Labels%20June%202017.pdf) One of our providers has a product with the TÜV mark, that is, certified under the TÜV SÜD test standard "TM 07 Dispersion Pains". This standard is based on ISO 16000-9, which is one...

EBOM templates

Pilot-Credits IPpc88: LEED O+M Starter Kit

The EBOM templates are really lousy. The reviewers love them and it is really difficult to get a plan/policy approved if you do not follow the template. But in real Life they are no good, why can we not write plans and policys the same way we do for ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 and why can we not have more flexibility when it comes to choosing relevant areas to include in the policy. For site management it is a large difference if you have extensive green areas or only a standard sedum green roof. And how come it is so dofficult for reviewers to understand that we very rarely have any problems with pest. If we...

Putty with M1 emissions test, however VOC content unknown g/L

CS-2009 IEQc4.1: Low-emitting materials - adhesives and sealants
posted by Sara Johansson on Nov 2, 2017, 11:40 am

Hello, We are looking at a floor putty with no VOC content g/L presented in documentation from the manufacturer, however the product has fullfilled the requirement of M1 emission testing, with 28 days measurement. Is this acceptable for IEQc4.1 without knowing VOC content? I know we can replace this credit with LEED v.4 but the formaldehyde content is netiher declared (which I understand must be fullfilled according to additional formaldehyde content requirements in order to use international standards such as ISO and AgBB/DiBt in v.4). furniture made from laminated boards with A class according to French legislation

Reinhard Oppl Independent consultant on VOC issues formerly with Eurofins Product Testing A/S LEEDuser Basic Member 329 thumbs up October 31, 2017- 11:29 am Unfortunately, no European test method was accepted by LEED to show compliance with the furniture evaluation criteria in the EQ credit on low-emitting materials. ISO 16000 testing for French legislation alone is accepted for composite wood only (if class A+; class A is not sufficient then). But final furniture can contain additional adhesives and coatings, therefore a fufillment of the composite wood criteria alone is not good enough for furniture....
