just what I needed!

February 8, 2011

This addition was so timely for our project. We just switched from LEED-NC to LEED-CI, but USGBC has not officially swtiched us on LEEDOnline so we do not have access to the templates yet. These came out just in time for me to reference at our LEED workshop last week.

I noticed that there are (3) templates missing:
SSp1 - Construction Activity Pollution Prevention (not listed)
MRc3.1 - Materials Reuse (error code 404: The requested resource is not available)
MRc3.2 - Materials Resuse - Furniture and Furnishings (error code 404: The requested resource is not available)

Will these be available soon?

thanks!

New LEED CI Project information form

February 3, 2011

We have just started a new LEED CI project on LEED Online. They now specifically asked you to separate the space by initial fit-out, alteration, and space undergoing no initial fit-out or alteration work. My suggestion would be enter the total tenant space GSF and then separate it into the above.
I might be wrong, but if you only give them the space size that will be changed and added only, than you would end up calculation less bike racks. So not really enough bike racks for all tenant's occupants as defined in the credit language. Very interesting questions. I look forward to other peoples opinion on your topic.

EQ6.2 Return air flow

February 1, 2011

EQ6.2 a) states:"Size the opening to 1 sq inch per cfm of supply air (this area may include free area undercut below door)." When using a grille are they specifying gross or net area? Our firm typically specifies the transfer grilles by gross area.

Tristan, do you know if this is going to be focused more on new construction, or will they discuss pitfalls in the Existing Building Arena as well?

Adrianna, it sounds like one more article isn't what you're looking for, but here is a good one, in case it's helpful:
LEED App Store Coming Soon? USGBC Opens Up Data Flows
Beyond that, can you be more specific about what kind of concrete information you want to see? What kind of project are you doing, and how were you thinking of using LEED Automation?

Living with LEED Online - quirks, bugs and hiccups

Energy and Water Data Release Form

January 28, 2011

Has anyone had issues with the PIf1: Minimum Program Requirements Energy and Water Data Release Form? The credit template states that this form must be on project owner letterhead and uploaded to LEED Online, but the pdf is secured and we are not able to copy/paste. It seems like an unnecessary amount of work to ask the owner to retype it onto corporate letterhead.
