Treatment of District or Campus Thermal Energy in LEED 2009

June 19, 2012

hi, we are working on a project which consists of 5 buildings and only 2 of them will go for LEED certification. AGMBC approach has been applied. All the buildings in the project are served by a central chiller plant. May I clarify if DES approach is compulsory for EAp2 and EAc1 credits of the two LEED buildings if performance approach is taken? Thanks.

Campus Project - With Only one Building to be LEED certified

June 19, 2012

I'm working on project where there are three buildings (main building and two other support service building) in the same site. Project owner is only interested in obtaining LEED certification for main Building. Other two buildings are a utility block where locker rooms, Toilets and etc are located and a material store.
can we register this as a campus project and obtain LEED certification only to the main building. Or is it a must to have more than one buildings to be LEED certifed to go as a campus project.
advice on this is much appriciated

I am working on a FedEX building where the delivery staff are in the building for an hour or less in the morning and about the same in the afternoon. How do I calculate these?

NPD P3- Connected and Open Community

June 12, 2012

Hello,
I am working on a project in ciudad de Panamá, Panamá. The Master Plan of the project includes residential and commercial areas.
As LEED Consultants we are worried about accomplishing this prerequisite. We find a cultural barrier, since this prerequisite has as requirement that all streets that are counted towards the connectivity are NOT Gated, in Panamá this could be difficult to accomplish because the security is an important thing to consider in a neighborhood development.
The project is located within a new master plan, to be developed completely within the next 10 years. Our project is the first pad built inside this new community. The other development pads will have internal road intersections, but we do not know exactly where and how many. Does future development can be used within this credit calculations?
Is there an alternative compliance path to comply with this prerequisite?

design phase review appeal

June 11, 2012

Our project is currently at the Construction Final Review Stage and we would like to submit an appeal on 2 of our Design credits. How is this done? I tried during the Construction Preliminary Review but apparently the appeals were not submitted correctly. When I go to the "Timeline and Reviews" pages the Design Appeal Review category is blank,

Deadline for project submission

June 11, 2012

Project deadlines are found in the Certification Policies Manual starting on page 16 and rating system specific deadlines are in the appendices starting on page 31. See page 36 for the answer to this question. If the project has reached Substantial Completion without any Design submission being made, a Combined review submission must be made withing 24 months of Substantial Completion being reached.

question

June 8, 2012

my project is composed of a 52 residential building and 2 retails (g+1 and G+2) they are in the same project boundary and fed from the same HVAC systems ( chillers and boilers)
the retails are basically core and shell
what choices I have in this case? can I submit my building only for certification.

LEED 2009 PI form 3

Thanks for all the hints folks. I clicked "none" on the lease part, and it still didn't say completed. Then I went back and put in 0s for any areas that were blank/not used. Finally it said complete.

I am also having trouble with this form. I have checked my data, made sure all the zero's are in place I even went as far as deleting all my work and starting over. Anyone have any suggestions? I am finding this most frustrating.

PIF#4: Project floor plans and sensitive information

May 31, 2012

Has anyone had experience working on a project where floor plans contain sensitive information and the owner has requested certain details be redacted for security reasons? Have reviewer taken issue with redacted floor plans? The plans have been largely scrubbed of space names and some spaces greyed out.
