Fill out the LEED Submittal Template. You will need to provide information on annual reused water amount and, and if necessary, plumbing drawings or calculations illustrating that your non-potable water systems are capable of supporting the quantities determined. 

Document credit compliance on LEED Online. This credit has an LPE path for Professional Engineers where project plans, drawings, and other information is not necessary for upload. For the full documentation path you will need to complete the following:

Complete the LEED Online Letter Template and prepare the following documents to show credit compliance, according to your chosen option. The LEED Reference Guide also offers good process guidance and sample documentation for this credit. 

For LEED documentation, the civil engineer needs to fill out the LEED Submittal Template, including the pre-development rate and quantity of stormwater runoff, the post-development rate and quantity, and a stream-protection narrative (as applicable). The civil engineer should also provide a copy of the project plans with designated stormwater strategies. (See Documentation Toolkit for samples.)

If you are attempting this credit through Option D, energy modeling and recalibration of the energy model will incur additional fees for your project—more if your design team did not use an energy model to do the actual design work for the energy optimization of lighting and HVAC. 

If applicable, your M&V plan should specify submetering sensor locations, sensors requiring trending, sampling rates, required energy model outputs, and how measured data will be compared to the energy model. Also include how loads are arranged and grouped in electric panels. (It is best, for example, not to mix power, lighting, and HVAC equipment loads within individual panels.) 

Variable loads (such as dimming controls) can be profiled with short-term measurements that determine a load value pegged against another variable point that can be measured or accurately estimated over time. Also, if your project does not submeter plug loads, you’ll need to interpolate data in a similar manner.

The owner’s goals and IPMVP guidelines should drive your M&V plan, which should specify the systems to be submetered, those being spot-metered, and how you will accomplish this.

The M&V provider writes the M&V plan, but if possible, involve the facility’s operational staff. The plan must provide the following (see a sample M&V plan in the Documentation Toolkit):
