Omitting an area from the building

We are certifying an office building and there is one retail space at the ground floor of the building that the project team wants to omit from LEED certification. Can this be achieved? How?

Is reclaimed wood flooring required to be certified? Similar to EAc1.4 and MRc7, I would assume reused products would be exempt but I have not found a reference for this.
