BIO
After graduating from Warren Wilson College where she worked as the Publications Assistant in the college's Environmental Leadership Center, Elizabeth moved to Chattanooga, TN to work for the municipal electric utility, EPB. EPB is a progressive utility that won $111M in DOE SGIG funds to build out its fiber optic smart grid. In addition to building the nation's most advanced electric distribution infrastructure, EPB offers communications services, and is the first Internet Service Provider to offer a 1 Gigabit residential service in the US. The opportunities for green innovation with this infrastructure are limitless, and the utility is already seeing environmentally related benefits due to its smart grid. Elizabeth coordinates the company's ENERGY STAR Set Top Box partnership; by the end of 2011, energy efficient set top boxes will have saved the community around $1M. She also develops and implements internal Environmental Stewardship initiatives rooted in the LEED rating system. She has served on a USGBC - East Tennessee committee and enjoys public service and volunteering.
