My question is related to both the Protect or Restore Habitat and Open Space credits.  In the past I have included the total area of any landscaping bed, not just the area of each plant...

Our project is building adjacent to an existing building, and will connect to it via a pedestrian bridge. Between the two buildings are several existing, older trees that are required to remain....

Trista Little Senior Consultant WSP USA LEEDuser Expert 369 thumbs up April 11, 2019- 8:44 pm Hi Yoyo, yes you can replace the normal SSc2 Site Development credit with Pilot Credit 83. This webpage:  https://www.usgbc.org/node/5052535?return=/pilotcredits/New-Construction/v4  confirms PC83 is applicable for BDC v4 projects. And there's no distance requirement for the pilot credit, but as you point out, you have to donate to NFWF or FAS. Remember to also register for the Pilot Credit and complete all the requirements (e.g. the feedback survey and participate in the LEEDuser credit forum...
