LEED Online Templates (BETA vs. Version3)Schools-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performanceposted by Maya Karkour on Feb 23, 2011, 2:15 pmDear all, I am currently filling the LEED Online Letter templates. Some of these are BETA version. Until now, I am having no problems/bugs. It it possible that the USGBC asks to upgrade to the latest version 3? The issue is that it would take me a lot of time to re-fill all the BETA templates. Note that I noticed, for this EA Prerequisite form, that the v3 version asks for the HDD & CDD of the city/area, and also asks for 2 signatories of the Electrical Engineer AND Mechanical Engineer (as opposed to the BETA version, which asks for one signatory of who they call "Design Engineer"). Any... Last reply: Tristan Roberts, Feb 25, 2011, 1:15 pm |

How to include cost associated with rare building cleaning?EBOM-2009 IEQc3.3: Green cleaning - purchase of sustainable cleaning products and materialsposted by Paul C on Feb 17, 2011, 1:38 pmThis relates to a questioned I posed on the IEQ cleaning equipment forum in regards to where to draw the line. Fro the cleaning equipment forum I was told to include ALL equipment including vendors that make quarterly or annual visits. We have vendors that come on a quaterly basis to do wood, metal, stone repairs, thus they do not store chemicals in our building. They do use some GS products which we would like to include, but I am not sure how to put a cost on these products as they go with the vendor from building to building and are not directly purchased for the building. Please explain how I can... Last reply: Jason Franken, Feb 18, 2011, 10:45 am |

A lot of people have similar complaints right now, from what I hear. Have you been able to find any methods to obtain CEUs that would work for you? I have heard that a variety of methods including self-study or giving presentations are available. We are planning a webinar on this topic for Feb. 23rd-- stay tuned. Vestibule vs. Air CurtainGeneral forumsposted by Ralf Lehmann on Feb 14, 2011, 4:43 amChristopher Schaffner CEO & Founder The Green Engineer LEEDuser Expert 963 thumbs up February 16, 2011- 9:01 am There is a reason ASHRAE requires vestibules- the infiltration from a door can be enormous in a cold climate. Bad for energy, bad for comfort. If you don't meet the exceptions in 90.1. I'm afraid you are out of luck. Codes and standards require lots of things owners don't like to pay for (insulation, sprinklers, well marked means of egress, adequate structure, etc.). In my experience, air curtains don't work very well, and they certainly don't add... Last reply: Christopher Schaffner, Feb 16, 2011, 9:01 am |
