Mr. Dock is a traffic engineer and transportation planner with 35 years of experience. He directs the Department of Transportation for the City of Pasadena, where a staff of 45 operates the City’s transit, pedestrian, bicycle, traffic and parking systems. His experience includes leading an urban street design initiative for the Congress for the New Urbanism and developing a national award-winning form-based street design code. He is a contributing author for several books - the Urban Land Institute’s Developing Around Transit, the Institute of Transportation Engineers Recommended Practice for Walkable Urban Streets, and Sustainable Urbanism, in addition to several ULI Panel Advisory Reports. He attained Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Civil Engineering at the University of California Berkeley, is registered as a Professional Engineer, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and a fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
