As we all know LEED requires MERV 13 filters for all outdoor air intakes. We are currently working on a manufacturing plant in a desert region that mostly operates with evaporative coolers.

Have any projects used electronic air filters (in conjunction with MERV 8 filters) as an alternative compliance path for this credit?

Non-compliant pre-filters

I am working on a project with several large outdoor air handlers. Each air handler has a system of MERV 8 pre-filters followed by MERV 13 main filters.

Has anyone ever had an issue with MERV 13 filters not maintaining original quality and performance levels? Also, I cant find if this credit requires active monitoring of any sort that would capture

Our building has existing MERV 8. The existing HVAC does not have the capability to to take MERV-13 filters. Can we get this credit if we have phase-out plan or need to replace all at once?
