We have a project with an office tower (white TPO) and a detached 2-story annex (mod-bit BUR). The annex is 7% of the total building area.

The definition for roof area indicates that only the roof area directly above the Gross Square Footage should be used for the Option 1 - 75% calculation.
Partially certifying building

Upper floors of building are utilized as hotel and lower floors are utilized as office. Owners are diffrent. Only the office is going to certified under LEED EB except hotel.

I have a building that has in the most part of their roof, a floating tile paving, that creates an air-chamber between the slab of the roof and the tilies of the paving.

In my understanding all roof areas that are not counted for heat island effect - non roof should be counted for heat island effect - roof credit. Is that correct?

Am I missing something in this. In our project, we have about 60,000 SF of roof area with 0.85 Solar Reflectance, 0.89 Thermal Emittance, & calculated SRI of 107.1.
Solar panels serving another building

If solar panels on our building‘s roof are serving another building‘s energy needs, can we still exclude these solar panels from calculations as mechanical equipment?
