If your team undertakes a value engineering process, make sure the full cutoff fixtures are not eliminated from the list or replaced by incandescent or high-powered halogen fixtures. These changes are often overlooked and may cost the project this credit.

The designer reviews the final bid documents and budget estimates to confirm that the fixtures have not been substituted for by another type, and that interior lighting controls and window shades are not omitted. 

Confirm all the lighting fixtures are listed on the lighting plan. This ensures that the correct components are purchased and installed to maintain the credit requirements.

Ensure that monitoring devices are included in budget estimates from the beginning to avoid any surprises.

The monitoring and alarm systems need to be included in the commissioning plan for EAp1: Fundamental Commissioning with the appropriate sampling rate.

Outdoor airflow monitors may be integrated within AHUs and ventilation equipment specifications.

Detailed construction instructions with locations of monitoring devices help to ensure that these devices are installed correctly.

Review drawings to ensure that all densely occupied spaces contain CO₂ sensors.

Include CO₂ sensors and outdoor air delivery monitoring devices on the project plans and Equipment Schedule. Also highlight the interface between monitors and BMS or alarm on project plans.
