LEEDuser resources

October 11, 2010

Hi Summer, since you're here on LEEDuser can I assume you've checked out the templates and other resources here? If not, check the Documentation Toolkits for IEQc4 and MRc4–7. (For example, IEQc4.1.)

Depends on whaty you're looking for, but I think there's a lot of variation in ready-mix plants.
Why do you ask? Looking for something particular?

Re: Green Cleaning Costs

October 4, 2010

It could depend on alot of factors - but take a look at
http://www.pjs.com/cms/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=%2FW6KjXbg%2BIM%3D&tabi...
for a preliminary discussion.

You may find more input under the EB credits at
http://www.leeduser.com/credit/EBOM-2009/IEQp3
and

Hope that helps!

Re: Audit Requirements

September 30, 2010

The LEED review process has moved away from auditing selected credits in greater detail as was practiced under NC 2.1. The LEED Review teams continue to ask for clarifications as part of the Design Phase Review and the Construction Phase Reviews, especially if the submitted documentation is unclear, ambiguous, or conflicts with documentation submitted for other credits.

In some cases, if the project team's responses to those requests for clarification are not clear or don't supply the information requested, credits have been denied. It can save a lot of wasted time and anguish to respond to these clarification requests very precisely - if the reviewer asks for A, B, and C, its often better in the long run to provide exactly that, even if in your judgment you think it's unnecessary. If you are not able to provide exactly what they ask for valid reasons, explain why and provide something to address the question.

Living with LEED Online - quirks, bugs and hiccups

Special Circumstances

September 30, 2010

Hi Jean -
Information in the special circumstances section is never required - so it shouldn't affect whether or not Y appears. If you check the 'special circumstances' box, however, the system does require you to put text in the narrative box that appears.
I'm not sure that this speaks to your issue, but hopefully it sets you in the right direction :)

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES?

Does anybody know how to specify SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES and uploads so that the "Compliance Documented:" box turns to Y?

Can't use LEED 2009 MF sections for an NC 2.2 project.

September 23, 2010

Hi Christopher,
The rules say that you're NOT allowed to use the LEED 2009 guidelines for which materials to include/exclude in an NC 2.2 project. To be safe you should just include the MF 2004 sections that correspond to the allowed MF 95 sections.
If you want to push this boundary you could submit a CIR or just include all the allow LEED 2009 sections and see how they review it, but I wouldn't count on that getting approved.

Schools mold prevention credit

September 21, 2010

Dan, on the topic of mold prevention, you might consider whether LEED for Schools IEQc10: Mold Prevention is applicable to your project, and could be pursued as an ID credit.
My guess would be that since LEED has addressed mold prevention via this credit, any ID credit you submit regarding mold would be judged by that yardstick.
I think this credit will also give you some ideas as far as effective IAQ monitoring.
