The LEED review process has moved away from auditing selected credits in greater detail as was practiced under NC 2.1. The LEED Review teams continue to ask for clarifications as part of the Design Phase Review and the Construction Phase Reviews, especially if the submitted documentation is unclear, ambiguous, or conflicts with documentation submitted for other credits.

In some cases, if the project team's responses to those requests for clarification are not clear or don't supply the information requested, credits have been denied. It can save a lot of wasted time and anguish to respond to these clarification requests very precisely - if the reviewer asks for A, B, and C, its often better in the long run to provide exactly that, even if in your judgment you think it's unnecessary. If you are not able to provide exactly what they ask for valid reasons, explain why and provide something to address the question.
