We have a small project with a courtyard with an area pretty much doubling the building footprint which has a wall (concrete wall, not a fence) all along the peripheral yard.

Do the windows in the stairways need to be 8 square feet at each level? I have a 3 story stairwell with a narrow window that runs the length of the stairs. It is 19 feet by 1 foot.
