We are working on a V4 BD+C Healthcare Project, and we're completing the Source Reduction Calculator for the M&R Credit PBT Source Reduction-Mercury. The only fixtures in this project that include mercury are exterior metal halides. As such, this project is still in compliance with the prerequisite since the Metal Halides are exterior. However, in order to obtain the 1 credit point, do the exterior Metal Halides need to be included in the Source Reduction Calculator? If so, how do we do this, since the calculator does not provide a pull-down option for MH lamps?

Hi Dianne, quick question for you. Where do you see that exterior fixtures can be excluded from the prerequisite? Page 487 of the RG says that all lamps "within the project boundary" need to be included in the lamp inventory. I see the sentence on page 485 that says do not specify certain kinds of metal halides in any interior spaces, but I don't see anything that clearly states that exterior fixtures and lamps are outside the scope of this credit.
So I would assume that exterior fixtures/lamps need to be included in the calculator. But, I'm not sure why metal halides aren't included in the drop down menu (or more clearly covered in the RG). Wish I could be more helpful - it might be worth reaching out to GBCI on this one. Let us know what they say if you do!
