Walk Off Mats in classrooms with exterior doors

In the past we have just placed a typical walk off mat at the door in classrooms that have exterior doors. These are typical kindergarten classrooms that empty right onto the playground.

We have a project with a complex occupancy. The facility is secure and staffed 24/7 by two groups, each group having 3 8-hour shifts.

Open space

We have a project that has terraces in some floors, the issue is that the terraces have a roof but they are not enclosed. Can we count this area as open space?
