Owner maintained carpet entry systemsNC-2009 IEQc5: Indoor Chemical and Pollutant Source Controlposted by Susan Walter on Feb 10, 2011, 9:02 amI have an in patient Hospital project and we are providing roof gardens and access to those gardens. Hooray for direct access to nature! My question in on the entryway systems. We want to encourage people to go outside so these are regularly used entries. Using dirt trapping entry systems in a patient care unit would be unacceptable for infection control so we are looking into carpeted mat systems. I can get the owner to agree to the weekly maintenance but since they clean their own buildings, could I get an exception in line with the schools exception? For the record, we're staying with NC... MERV Filter during and after Test runNC-2009 IEQc5: Indoor Chemical and Pollutant Source Controlposted by Yong Lee Low on Mar 3, 2011, 12:47 amAllison Beer McKenzie Architect, Director of Sustainability SHP Leading Design LEEDuser Expert 646 thumbs up March 3, 2011- 9:34 am On the form for this credit, you will have to check a box that says: "Supply air systems, including both outside air and return air delivered as supply, serving all regularly occupied areas are sized to accommodate filtration media with a MERV rating of 13 or better. New filtration media which meet this MERV rating will be installed prior to occupancy." The strategy you are describing does not seem to be in line with honestly checking this box on the form,... Airport jetway re-useCI-2009 MRc3.1: Materials Reuseposted by Raphael Sperry on Feb 23, 2011, 6:41 pmYou'd also have to deduct any other assemblies that wouldn't easily fit within CSI divisions 2-10... wheels, tires, suspensions, and drive motors come to mind. Online Template Issue- Upload Time Required for IEQp1CI-2009 IEQp1: Minimum indoor air quality performanceposted by Shannon Allison on Feb 25, 2011, 8:52 pmI have a technical question about LEED Online and inputting information into the Adobe Form for IEQp1. The issue I am having is the amount of time required to document a building that has several zones. Currently, the only way I know how to document IEQp1 is to actively enter each zone, line by line online. However, each time I input a value, the whole form pauses and I believe, re-calculates every value in the table. This pause greatly slows the process of inputting information and for buildings with well over 40 zones can increase our documentation time by several hours. Has anyone run... i've been a usgbc employee for almost 9 years...General forumsposted by brendan owens on Feb 9, 2011, 5:36 pmso take this with as large a grain of salt as you think is required: i've been advised, repeatedly, that there's a perilously fine line between commenting on pending litigation and expressing thoughts about the state of our industry. i'm doing the latter- not the former. i consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur of leed criticism. my title is vp, leed technical development so lots of criticism about the way leed works comes my way. it might be the sheer volume of criticism i see but over the years i have to admit that i've become a bit of a snob about it. that said, some of the very... LEED Online Templates (BETA vs. Version3)Schools-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performanceposted by Maya Karkour on Feb 23, 2011, 2:15 pmDear all, I am currently filling the LEED Online Letter templates. Some of these are BETA version. Until now, I am having no problems/bugs. It it possible that the USGBC asks to upgrade to the latest version 3? The issue is that it would take me a lot of time to re-fill all the BETA templates. Note that I noticed, for this EA Prerequisite form, that the v3 version asks for the HDD & CDD of the city/area, and also asks for 2 signatories of the Electrical Engineer AND Mechanical Engineer (as opposed to the BETA version, which asks for one signatory of who they call "Design Engineer"). Any... Last reply: Tristan Roberts, Feb 25, 2011, 1:15 pm |
