No new parking spaces by count, but new parking lot.NC-2009 SSc4.4: Alternative transportation - parking capacityposted by sara frye on Jun 10, 2010, 2:59 pmTristan Roberts Representative Vermont House of Representatives LEEDuser Expert 11477 thumbs up June 10, 2010- 4:30 pm Can you clarify this scenario? If you're adding a new parking lot how are you not increasing parking spaces?I could see this being the case if the adjoining property's parking is being returned to a natural state, and it it's also being included in the LEED... IEQ8.1 New Construction 2009 using Option2 Prescriptive MethodNC-2009 IEQc8.1: Daylight and views - daylightposted by on Jun 10, 2010, 6:46 pmplan, draw a line in plan to show the daylight zone. Start with it set at 2H. Perform the calculations to see if you have a good ratio of window area for this day lit floor area. If you're lucky, the areas in this daylit zone will add up to be 75% of the Regularly Occupied Space. If the day light area is not enough to be 75%, you can try moving the line defining the daylight zone further than 2H from... Last reply: Eddy Santosa, Aug 5, 2010, 9:30 pm |

private vs. public lavatoriesEBOM-2009 WEp1: Minimum Indoor Plumbing Fixture and Fitting Efficiencyposted by Alice Cook on Jun 27, 2010, 8:07 pmJason Franken Sustainability Professional LEEDuser Expert 608 thumbs up July 1, 2010- 10:03 am Daycia, there is always a lot of confusion around this issue, so it's good to see it supported in yet another forum. To answer your specific question, a restroom in a commercial office building is considered a "private lavatory" if it is used on a daily, exclusive basis by the same occupant (i.e. an executive with their own private restroom). The scenario that you're describing for your project where "lavatories have keyed entry for personnel only" would... Last reply: Jason Franken, Jul 13, 2010, 12:36 pm |

Alternative Compliance ApproachEBOM-2009 MRc7: Solid waste management - ongoing consumablesposted by Richard Navarro on Jun 30, 2010, 12:51 pmDan Ackerstein Principal Ackerstein Sustainability, LLC LEEDuser Expert 819 thumbs up June 30, 2010- 1:00 pm This is a question that lots of folks have struggled with and I can offer some insight, if not a definitive answer. My understanding is that the USGBC/ GBCI hasn't provided formal guidance on this issue and maintains the prerogative to determine appropriateness based on the specifics of an individual project. That being said, it is my experience that MRc7 particularly (as well as MRc8 and MRc9) can legitimately be pursued using a campus-wide number. Many of the campuses I work with have this problem-... That means the exguast rate of restroom will be no less the rates in Table 4. Log in or register to post comments Claudia Rieger LEEDuser Basic Member 15 thumbs up July 13, 2010- 4:52 am Hi Carrie, thank you for the answer. But how it is possible to take that in consideration in the on-line Template for IEQ-pr.1? This Prerequisite refers to the "Ventilation Rate Procedure". It calculates "the design outdoor air intake flow (Vot)" and that has nothing... Last reply: Carrie Lai, Jul 22, 2010, 10:43 pm |

Golf Carts does it count?NC-2009 SSc4.3: Alternative transportation - low-emitting and fuel-efficient vehiclesposted by Johanna Ordaz on Jul 22, 2010, 11:01 amRyan Gaylord Director CTG Energetics, Inc. LEEDuser Basic Member 49 thumbs up July 27, 2010- 7:56 pm I think the answer depends on how your employees arrive to work each day. For example, do they use personal vehicles to arrive on-site, and then golf carts are used for on-site transportation only? If a parking lot for employee vehicles exists, this lot would require either a sufficient number of preferred parking spaces or vehicle charging stations for LEVs. If option 3 is pursued, I'm not certain that a golf cart would be considered as an acceptable means for transporting employees to and from... Last reply: Anya Fiechtl, Aug 18, 2015, 8:14 pm |
