Total construction cost

CS Credits MRc3 through MRc6 all cover the same scope of materials, and except for Certified Wood, each calculates achievement as a percentage of “Total Material Cost” determined by one of two methods. In both the ACTUAL COST and DEFAULT methods, the scope used in credit calculations is that from Construction Specification Institute (CSI) MasterFormat Divisions 03 through 10 and parts of Divisions 31 & 32 (Sections 31.60.00 Foundations, 32.10.00 Paving, 32.30.00 Site Improvements, and 32.90.00 Planting). Division 12 Furniture is optional if done consistently for all MR credits. To your question: CSI places excavation with Earthwork in Division 31, but not in Section 31.60.00. Agata, it is typically the total cost for the project, which would include the GC's total price tag. One issue is that many (most?) GCs won't want to separate out these costs in a transparent way.
