SCL Contractor Commitment

Hi All,

As you know from the SCL Summit last year, I have been organizing a task group to create a draft of our SCL Contractor Commitment. We have come up with a short Tiered commitment draft as well as some best practices and challenges that led us to the commitment. I encourage everyone to take a look at the draft and please send any comments to me kdavid@bcciconst.com by Monday April 1st. We will review all comments and incorporate them into a more robust draft in Q3 so we have a final draft to issue at the next Summit.

Thanks,

Kena

Hi Kena, I just reviewed your draft.  It looks like a great variety of options.  I suggest after the brainstorming draft session(s) that we (the SCL group) focus on selecting some options, probably no more than 5, that we make a priority for the industry.  Once we’re able to make each of those items standard and normal, we move to incorporate the next item from the draft list. Thanks for putting this together and asking for feedback. Best regards,

Hi All, For those of you who made edits or comments to the Contractor Commitment, please upload these comments and drafts to the Contractor Commitment folder in this forum. To upload items to a folder, just select the "Contractor Commitment" to the file folder when posting. The sub committee will be reviewing all comments on April 11th.    Thanks, Kena

SCL Contractor Commitment Draft with Conor McGuire notes FYI file folder drop down does not provide any options for where this upload will be uploaded to.

Mon, 04/01/2019 - 19:53

Hi Conor,  Thank you for pointing out this upload did not work for you to the Contractor Commitment folder. We are taking a look at this at BuildingGreen and will get back in touch when we have more details. Best, RoseAnn

Hi Conor,  We have now remedied putting files into the Contractor's Commitment folder from a comment. I have moved your file into the folder so you should be all set.  If anyone has any trouble with putting documents in the folder, please reach out to me, roseann@buildinggreen.com.  Best, RoseAnn

Hi Kena - would you add my name under Carbon and Wellness?

Hi, Please add me to Carbon and Wellness also. Thanks, Jessie Buckmaster, LEED AP® BD+C Sustainability Manager [HDCCo Logo] Office: 213.634.2796 Cell: 213.435.4191 buckmasterj@hdcco.com

Anyone that is interested the Carbon Emissions group should use this link to view the working spreadsheet for the group.  Please verify that you can add your comments to the document by finding your name and commenting on the cell in the spreadsheet with your name. once we firm up who is active in the document and commenting we'll set up a conference call etc. TBD https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10Dpvf6Ru_X131yGlOlSKTKvw9bLayX9XKP7WuTF_Upw/edit?usp=sharing If you're having trouble viewing the sheet or commenting you can contact me directly at cmcguire@columbiacc.com

Mon, 06/10/2019 - 16:15

I want to make sure that everyone that wants to participate in the Carbon discussion has the opportunity.  Best I can tell, 16 people have requested to be part of the discussion, many people have accessed the draft spreadsheet and yet only 3 people (including myself) started to comment on content that is listed and potentially content that is missing. My hope is that everyone reads the information on the sheet and reads each other's comments and we have interaction via comments in advance, so that when we set up a conference call we've each put some time into thinking about how to make a fair, excellent, meaningful, impactful and manageable system. All the comments and content will form the agenda and attendees for a call.  It's up to you if you'd like to be part of that. What do people like? What do people not like? Etc. Use your comments to post missing ideas, useful links, etc. Thank you for your participation!

Hi Kena - would you add my name under Carbon and Wellness?

Tue, 06/11/2019 - 18:03

I like the idea of limiting the amount of folks editing the documents. If each sub group could make sure they post the content and any meeting times for the larger SCL group, that way we can ensure anyone who wants to contribute can, but the main content is being driven by a select few. Hi Stella,  Could you please add me to the waste group. Thanks!

Mon, 07/01/2019 - 16:35

Can you please also add me to the wellness group? Thank you.

Thu, 07/18/2019 - 22:46

Hi All, I have not seen any recent messages on Carbon and Wellness groups, that I signed up for. Just checking, is there is an email distribution list or google doc that I should be looking at?  No recent meetings either....right? Thanks,
Vandita

Fri, 07/19/2019 - 12:02

I am late to respond but i would love to be in the Carbon and Wellness groups.  please let me know next steps.

Mon, 07/22/2019 - 20:39

Yes, anyone that is interested should log into the Carbon Neutrality 2030 Planning Document, review the information and links and provide your comments for discussion and incorporation. Of the 20 people requesting to participate in the Carbon Neutrality 2030 Planning, only 7 have logged in and provided minimal comments.  some most have only commented on their names to acknowledge that they opened the document. for us to have a robust conference call, we'll need a lot more review/suggestions/agreement/disagreement so that I can set up an agenda.  Please log in and comment regarding what you see as correct, missing, incorrect, etc.   Best regards, Conor McGuire https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10Dpvf6Ru_X131yGlOlSKTKvw9bLayX9XKP7WuTF_Upw/edit?usp=sharing

Additionally, please provide a link to your company's Corporate sustainability Report, Carbon Reporting, or sustainability website next to your name.

Hi Kena, There was a snafu with my SCL account but I am now back and looking to plug in. Can you please add me to the carbon and waste groups? I have requested access to the carbon doc from Conor already. Thanks! John M

All, Please see the most recent draft of the wellness category for the contractor commitment. It would be good to get the leaders of the sub categories together to make a combined draft for the larger SCL Group to review and comment on. I have reached out separately to gauge the status of each sub category.  -Kena

Tue, 08/06/2019 - 15:37

Hi Kena, Thanks for putting this together. I have added some comments. See attached.

Thu, 11/07/2019 - 16:04

Hi All,   I have compiled the final draft of the contractor commitment. Please review and come to the SCL Summit in 2 weeks with specific comments on what needs to be adjusted. The goal is to spend little time on adjusting the language and to move the focus to how we will be rolling out the commitment and reporting. I look forward to taking the next steps with this.   Thank you, Kena
