Expansion joints-LEED for schools v2009

For the expansion joints being used in a LEED project for schools v2009, do they have to meet the NRC requirement of 0.70? Currently our sub wants to use Seismic Colorseal, STC 52/OITC 38.

You could do a "composite STC calculation" to try to determine if they have any effect on the overall STC rating of your wall or floor/ceiling. But I'm going to bet that the square footage of expansion joint compared to the square footage of the wall assembly is so small that it's probably not very significant. The process for a composite STC calculation is outlined in the ANSI standard if you're interested. I don't believe you'll need an NRC rating for the expansion joint, unless I'm not understanding your question. You'll only need NRC ratings for the items that provide acoustic absorption in the space.
