NC-2009 PIf2:Project Summary Details

LEED Boundary/Gross Floor Area for LEED-CI project

1. In calculating the gross floor area of an office located in a building with curtain walls, would the measurement be taken from the exterior face of the curtain wall? Or from the boundary of the concrete slab? 2. Would the emergency stairwell of the building be included in the LEED boundary and gross floor area of the office? The client is not paying for this space, so I am unsure whether to include it as part of the office or not. Thanks for your help!

Alejandro, based on the LEED definition (see scroll over above), I would go to the exterior of the wall, and include th stairwells. However, if the stairwell is outside your LEED project boundary you might not need to include it.
