Lease Duration

I see some threads on this issue but want to re-open this conversation. We have CI projects that are in buildings that have executed leases with a 10 year duration.

5-year lease + Letter of commitment for another 5 year extension

Our project has a lease agreement for 5-year period only as the leasing protocol of the Landlord is maximum of five years with option to renew.

10 Year Lease Start Date

I am working on a project and the owner has a lease of 10 years, although it started in 2005 and will end in 2015.

Region Where LT Leases are NOT Common

Has anyone in a region where long term contracts are not common, had experience (of if you have any comments) dealing with USGBC on this credit?
