Does anybody have experience using an alternate compliance path for a project in a cold climate?

Hi, I am just curious to know wether LEED accounts for heat island effect that takes place because of wall just like roof ? If not then any logical reason?

We have 100% of carparking spaces located in 2 stories below ground level. All the roofs of the upper floor form the pedestrian hardscape for the plaza situated above.

I'm working with a team on a hotel project, which is a highrise in a dense urban environment (100% of the site is covered by the building).

The Porte Coachere (the dropoff entry) of a hotel is usually covered. I am struggling with two questions on a hotel project: 1. Is the Porte Cochere a parking space?

Do I need to include the areas on the site which are covered with decomposed granite in my hardscape calculation?

We have a Tower pursuing LEED NC certification being built on top of an existing Podium with basement parking. The Tower officially starts on top of the Podium.
