In order to fulfil the requirements of EAp2 through building simulation, do we need to meet mandatory requirements of ASHRAE 90.1 2007.

We request for a clarification regarding mandating the tenant to use the VAV boxes in core and shell projects. In a core and shell project, we will not know what system the tenant will be using.

Hello, In Mexico City we have a one project that is integrated in two phases, the phase one start the construction phase in 2011 and the second phase will start the construction phase the next year

Eficiency of Electric motors operated with VFD

I would like to know if electric motors that are going to be operated by a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), need to comply with the eficiency requirements of the ASHRAE 90.1 table 10.8. Thanks

I am modeling an existing building right now. The opaque envelope will be maintained (walls and roof) but the entire inside, all HVAC systems, and windows will be replaced.

Dear sir/madam, Per the Revised Section 1 4 Tables (Dec 2012), for Systems 9 and 10,the fan power=0.3*supply air flow rate(cfm).

We have an office core/shell project that we are considering for certification. The Owner may want to just design a small mechanical unit to service the restrooms and not much more.
