If you are removing an existing building, can the waste from the building be counted if you are recycling it?
You rely on LEEDuser. Can we rely on you?

Sue, I am not so familiar with LEED for Homes but typically in LEED you are expected to count any demolition waste, whether recycled or landfilled, in your construction waste management calculations.
Thanks Tristan. The wording for MRc Construction Waste V4 is "Reduce waste generated from new construction. Exclude land clearing debris and excavated soils." So its sounds like the demo from an existing building would be included as you say.
Yes, that is typical LEED language, which definitely points to including demo waste.
Sue and Tristan,
Demolition waste of an existing building is not included in the calculations for MR credit Construction Waste Management. Projects undergoing major renovation that divert at least 50% of demolition waste from a landfill for reuse or recycling can earn 1 additional point for exemplary performance.
