Validating Flyash and Slag Carbon Equivalencies

In trying to help a client write a case study on avoided carbon by using slag and flyash, I am having trouble finding a one for one equivalency that can be verified.

I have found for one pound of flyash, one pound of carbon is saved - but I can't verify that.

Appreciate the feedback!

Depends on whether you're comparing to a conventional cement or Type 1L which may be applicable in your area because they do have a different GWP. Either way, if you can find an EPD for both you should be able to compare functional units and global warming potentials to make a comparison. I did a quick google search and got an epd for fly ash for a plant in Rotterdam. We are importing slag and fly ash so I wouldn't just dismiss it as irrelevant because it isn't domestic (you'd have to add travel distance to make it more accurate). Would be interesting to comparing how close a domestic EPD is if you find one. https://www.baumineral.de/downloads/file/492/EPD-Baumineral-018-EFA-F%C3%BCller-MR3_ENG.pdf may not be right but that's how I would do it Steven Burke.
