NC-v4 MPR2:Must use reasonable LEED boundaries

Small addition to existing building

Our project is a small addition (<10% of total building GSF) to an existing building. The new addition will be tied to the existing buildings HVAC system and will consist of a lobby and some office/conference room space. Can we LEED certify the addition on it's own as NC or CI or will this addition allow us to certify the whole building as NC?

Edmee, your choices here are to do NC on the whole building, or EBOM on the whole building. Since the scope is not an interior space, CI does not fit. You would want to choose what makes the most sense for your project team -- do you want to consider the whole building more  as a renovation project, or look at this addition as a small renovation, and overall focus on the operational aspects of the project?
