Hello! I have a project ( a new Science building on a college campus) under NC-2009. We are looking to obtain EAc2 On-Site Renewable Energy but our renewable energy source is from photovoltaic panels on a building outside the LEED Boundary ( Off site) but on the same college campus with the same owner. Would anyone know of any LEED interpretations dealing with off site renewable energy sources such as this to confirm we are able to obtain this credit. Thank you

LEED Interpretation 10032 seems to address your situation. Check the Campus Application Guide as well. Basically if there is a solar array outside the projects LEED boundary but it is located on the same campus the owner can allocate the PV production to new construction projects. Provide an allocation letter from the owner as well as information about the system including calculations demonstrating its output. As always the RECs must have been retained or replaced.
