We have a very large residential project, registered under NCv3, with a couple of core & shell retail spaces on the ground level. We have provided signage at the main residential entrance, at the parking garage lobby entrance, all service entrances, and meeting space entrance. It is non-smoking building and site. Smoking in interior public spaces is prohibited by state law, and residential apartment smoking is prohibited by building management. Smoking on site is prohibited within 25 feet, and states this on the exterior signage posted.

The review team is asking for additional signage specifically at the retail spaces, which are not yet occupied, and are expected to be fit out by the tenants. There is a Tenant Guidelines document in place, to be included with all Tenant Leases.

Has anyone had experience with this prereq with core & shell spaces within a much larger project? Is there any justification for having the future tenants provide their own no-smoking signage? thanks!
