In a LEED 2009 NC Schools project: If the school incorporates a vegetable and herb garden for cultivation and use by culinary arts students as part of their curriculum, does this garden have to be included in the WEc1 Water Efficient Landscaping credit? We will encourage the use of harvested rainwater, but it may be difficult depending on the location. If this area is excluded, must it also be excluded from the SSc5 Open Space and Protect or Restore Habitat credits? Thanks.
