Lake|Flato Architects is collaborating as an industry partner with the RE2 Lab and the Hamer Center for Community Design at Penn State on a research grant proposal for the National Science Foundation (NSF) that aims to develop a data-driven modeling tool for the prediction and optimization of residential building design for embodied carbon. This research will also help develop performance benchmarks for embodied carbon and the impacts of residential buildings.
On behalf of Professor Rahman Azari who leads this effort at Penn State, I am taking the lead to form a professional advisory board. I am looking for firms who are interested in participating by sharing 10-15 constructed, or under-development, residential projects to study and who are willing to serve as a member of the advisory board.
